Are you worried about the cost of a 24/7 emergency roadside assistance service? The Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA) has launched its Silver Membership Package, with you in mind.
Duane Ellis, General Manager of the Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA), says Emergency Roadside Response Technicians are able to provide jump start, minor vehicle repairs, change tyres, as well as the provision of security to road users, where needed. This package will cost an annual fee of $2,500, in addition to the General Consumption Tax (GCT).
“This package serves road users who want the convenience of a responsive emergency roadside assistance service at a lower cost,” Mr. Ellis stated. “Commuters may also choose additional services if they wish.”
The Silver Membership Package provides for four Emergency Roadside Response calls for the year, as well as limited international emergency roadside assistance. Mr. Ellis emphasized that the service standards remain the same across all membership tiers, including the existing Gold and Platinum Membership packages.
“The roll out of this package is based on feedback received,” Mr. Ellis noted. “Some members said they wanted us to re-introduce this basic service offering.”
Silver Package holders will also benefit from the internationally recognized Show Your Card and Save programme, which provides discounts from more than 150 merchants locally, and over 150,000 merchant partners overseas.
“We are encouraging parents to get this package for their children, as non-drivers can also benefit from JAA membership,” he stated. “This package covers the person, and not a motor vehicle; therefore, the member can call for assistance from the JAA, if the vehicle in which they are travelling is stranded.”
Some of the services that are available at an additional cost include—tow truck and locksmith. A valet service can also be provided to facilitate motor vehicle fitness documentation.
Persons who want to sign up for the JAA Silver Membership Package can do so by visiting the JAA headquarters at 7 Central Avenue, Kingston 5; or, apply via the Association’s website: www.calljaa.com.
